How do you find a great Web Developer?

I've been hearing more and more regarding the lack of integrity found in too many web developers. They are out there, I know two personally who do not follow the ethical guidelines we are all trying to instill in our new business practices, in networking and referring other businesses to people we have come to know as ethical.

I know there are good developers out there. My personal experience has not been a good one until recently. Through a networking friend, Martin Hazen of AYS Private Jets, I was referred to Plethora Designs. The company has actually been a pleasure to work with. They have watched out for my interests and alerted me to problems I had not caught at the time. They work by a high standard as if the website were their own. After all, shouldn't we think of all our work in such a way...our name is on the project? We know that WOM is the fiercest advertising and referral system around. A business hoping to create repeat customers and referrals do operate this way.

We only have to find them and what better way than through our networks and our contacts?
